All about this severe weather.

It is 73 in Gallatin at 11:30am.
The humidity is 88%.
The dew point is 68.

This blog update is just for today's severe weather.

Today and tonight- Severe storms likely. High 83. Low 68.
The spc has us under a slight risk for severe weather with a moderate risk to our west.

We are under a 15% wind risk with a 30% one county over!
We are also under a 2% tornado threat.
We do not have a hail threat at the moment but the spc could change that later today.

The timing is from 10pm-2am. Here is a timing graphic for all of middle Tennessee.

The other threat is flash flooding. We are under a flash flood watch until Tuesday afternoon. We could see 2-4" of rain fall tonight through Tuesday!

We are also under a wind advisory for gusts up to 35 mph.

This line has a good chance to hold up all the way to the plateau!

So be weather aware tonight.

Severe weather today? More likely Monday.

It is 65 in Gallatin at 11:00am.
The humidity is 96%.
The dew point is 64.

Today- Severe storms possible. High 75. We aren't expecting rain until this afternoon around 4pm or so. Until then you can expect cloudy skies. There is the possibly for afternoon severe storms with a 2% tornado threat, and a 5% wind and hail threat. The wpc thinks we could see 1.70" of rain today and tonight.

Tonight- Thunderstorms likely in the evening then some rain. Low 65. Strong to severe thunderstorms are forecasted in the evening then rain overnight. There will be some short breaks in the rain but not many.

Monday- A chance of rain warm. High 83. It is Monday night when we can expect severe weather. There is a chance of storms on Monday. The wpc thinks we will see over 2" of rain. The nws thinks we could see 1.5" to 3" of rain Monday and monday night. There is a good chance a flash flood watch will be issued on Monday. It will also be windy with gusts up to 30 mph so a wind advisory will probably be needed.

Monday night- Flooding, Wind, Tornadoes, and Hail! Low 66. The spc has us in a slight risk area for Monday night.
We are under a 15% chance for any type of severe weather 25 miles from you. With the 30% to our west. This will probably change by Monday.

These storms will arrive  with a squall line. They could be here by late Monday night into early Tuesday morning.

The reason tornadoes are in the outlook is because the line could bow out and produce tornadoes! The main threats are Large hail and damaging winds. Flooding is almost a definite threat. Wind would be the greatest because of the amount of wind shear. The damaging winds look to be on the front of the line and so do tornadoes.

Over the next 72 hours the wpc thinks we could see 4-5" of rain.
Here is a graphic from our nws regarding the severe weather potential.

This system is so powerful it looks to hold together for the plateau! Thats a long way to hold on especially at night!

Tuesday- Rain in the morning. High 69. After the line moves through the front looks like it will stall over west Tennessee giving us ran Tuesday. No severe weather is expected.

Stay weather aware today and Monday I should have an update Monday!

The humidity is 96%.

Today- cooler and rain. High 66. There is a 80% chance of rain today and possibly a thunderstorm. The high will only be in the upper 60's thanks to cloud cover today. We should see about a half inch of rain today mainly in the afternoon.

Tonight-Rain likely. Low 56. Tonight there is a 60% chance of rain. We could see a half inch of rain tonight. No thunderstorms are expected.

Sunday- Thunderstorms likely. High 75. There is the chance for thunderstorms on Sunday. None should be severe the severe worry is Monday night.

Sunday night- The rain becomes a chance. Low 64. The nws thinks the rain will slack off some on Sunday night into Monday. There is a chance for thunderstorms none of these should be severe.
Here is the wpc estimated rain fall for Sunday and Sunday night.

Monday- Only a 40% chance of rain. High 82. There is only a 40% chance of storms on Monday these should not be severe. It is Monday nights storms. The wpc thinks we could see 2" plus of rain.

Monday night- Severe storms! Low 60. This should be the last of the storms but they are gonna be severe.
Here is the spc day 3 outlook.
Sumner county is included in the slight risk area and the 15% area the 30% area is to our west. (this will change.)
I expect some real big storms to develop along this squall line. Here is the Forecast as of today.

This was put out by the nws in Nashville today.

Here is the wpc day 1-3 rain fall.

The rain just wont stop.

It is 68 in Gallatin at 10:00am
The dew point is 67
the humidity is 97%

I have had 0.70" of rain since midnight!!

Today- Rain. High 75. It is gonna rain all day. We could see some breaks in the rain but not many and they will be short lived. So take your umbrella to work and school today. There is the possible threat for thunderstorms they could be severe but not likely.

Tonight- You guessed it Rain. Low 56. There is a 70% chance of showers and thunderstorms tonight. This will mainly be in the first part of tonight to 3am then we could possibly get a break. From today and tonight the wpc says we could see up to 1.25" of rain.

Saturday- Rain likely. High 67. It will be cooler Saturday because of the rain and the front that will move over our area. The rain will break around 9am or so then pick back up in the afternoon.
Flash flooding COULD be a problem over the next several days. The wpc has us getting around an inch of rain Saturday and Saturday night.

Saturday night- A chance for rain again. Low 55. On Saturday night the nws drops the rain chance to 50%.
I think it will rain more after 3am or so.  It will be a wet weekend.

More rain and storms.

It is 69 in South Gallatin at 12:00 pm.
The dew point is 63.
The humidity is 80%.

After the morning rain we have cleared out for the whole county. We only got 0.17" of rain in south Gallatin this morning. We also had a gust front before the rain.

Today- Rain likely. High 81. The humidity is making a return today with the south winds. That is why our high today is in the 80's. This will cause t-storms today and tonight. None of these storms are forecasted to be severe today.

Tonight- Chance for storms. Low 63. The nws says that there is only a chance for storms tonight. Most of the storms should stay to our north in Kentucky, but some probably will come to visit northern middle Tennessee. These storms should not be severe.

Friday- Storms likely again! High 78. Rain and storms will be more widespread Friday than they were today.  The reason for this is the surface front that will SLOWLY drift our way Friday. There is a good chance that north of I-40 will see more rain. Another reason for the storms north of I-40 is a disturbance to our NW that will slide East Friday. The rain will start around 7am.

Friday night- Some more rain. Low 56. The rain on Friday will last into the night. Thunder is also possible. no severe weather is expected.

Saturday- Rain and storms. High 66. The reason the high will be in the 60's Saturday is because of the rain the rain will last all day Saturday. The surface front will once again push right back over us helping bring in southerly moister and storms. No severe weather is forecasted.

The best severe weather chance will be Monday into Tuesday morning.

storms tonight then fall like weather returns!

This blog update will only have tonight's and Fridays severe weather info no forecast sorry i will update for that Friday morning.
This info was put out by the spc at 8pm

To start the spc has placed us under a slight risk for severe weather.

We are also under a 15% chance for having winds 58 mph or greater.
THERE IS ALSO A VERY SLIGHT TORNADO THREAT!

Here is the eta i say between 4 and 7 the nws says between 2 and 7 a bigger time frame.

The main threats tonight/Friday will be damaging winds and heavy rain ( i think a brief tornado is possible depending on the strength of the line. )

The line of storms is in the middle of Arkansas at 8:20 pm. I think the line will cross the Mississippi river around 11 to 1 am then be here for possibly RUSH HOUR!

There will likely be a watch issued for us LATER ON TONIGHT. I'm not saying there will be but there is a good chance there will be one issued.

I will try to have an update in the morning.
